New this year, IAHC will be joining forces with the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa (HPCAI) to create a combined conference in place of each organization’s 2017 annual meeting which will be held November 7-8 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines. This two-day joint conference will allow IAHC and HPCAI the ability to reach a more diverse audience and bring in more attendees, including home health and hospice administrators, directors, financial managers, clinical managers and other industry professionals.
The conference will feature IAHC and home care-specific tracks that will blend highly-interactive education sessions with ample networking opportunities, making it a valuable experience for all attendees. Most sessions qualify for nursing CEUs. Additionally, the expo will be set up during the conference and will showcase the latest products and services from an ever-growing list of leading companies in the home care and hospice industries.
The IAHC Annual Conference promises to be a valuable opportunity for home care agencies to make new alliances, provide new services and utilize new technologies. IAHC members receive a discounted registration fee to attend the conference.
Registration is now open for the conference and can be found here.
The HPCAI/IAHC Joint Annual Conference and Trade Show will give companies the opportunity to showcase products and services to Iowa’s leaders in both the home care and hospice industries and build brand awareness among a broader audience. By participating in this event, businesses take advantage of the best exposure and one-one-one networking opportunities with these professionals in the state. And with a new location, the trade show is going to be bigger and better than ever. Click here to view the exhibitor prospectus.

2016 IAHC Annual Conference Combines Education, Networking
The 2016 IAHC Annual Conference & Expo was held June 29-30 at the Meadows Events and Conference Center in Altoona. The conference theme was “Knowledge is Power” and educational sessions engaged attendees in a variety of topics including outcome and assessment information set applications, quality educational initiatives, financial management, a panel discussion with managed care organizations and much more.
Highlights of the conference included a keynote presentation from comedian Jan McInnis, who used humor to demonstrate how to diffuse tension instantly, kick off tough conversations and facilitate communication. With the perfect balance of education and comedic relief, attendees left the keynote feeling refreshed and ready to handle and even embrace change, while also seeing the connection between humor and health through the latest research.
Additionally, Tom Westbrook, CEO of Learn Associates, LLC, provided an engaging pre-conference session which uncovered characteristics of effective leaders and helped attendees understand how to use these characteristics to accomplish extraordinary goals during the pre-conference session. The pre-conference and reception gave attendees time to interact with fellow home care professionals in a casual environment.
The conference had a great turnout with more than 100 attendees and 35 trade show vendors, which provided a unique opportunity for Iowa’s home care leaders and decision makers to network with peers and companies in the home care community. The highly-interactive conference and trade show allowed attendees to utilize applicable solutions and ultimately discover that amidst the changes, there also exist great opportunities for home care providers to thrive by having the right knowledge and using the right tools for success.
