The IAHC has established a mailing list to provide interested parties with information about the IAHC. All announcements about the work of the IAHC will be posted on this list. It will also carry information about IAHC activities and changes to its website. Anyone may subscribe, but it is a one-way list, from the IAHC to list recipients. Notices will be posted about IAHC activities and changes to its web pages.
To subscribe to the IAHC information list, put the word 'subscribe' in the body of an email message to iahc-info-request@iahc.org.
To unsubscribe from the mailing list, please send an e-mail to
iahc-info-request@iahc.org
with the following text in the body on the message: unsubscribe
Note that this mail should be sent from the same address as the one which you used to subscribe to the list.
There is an archive of the information list to check for past announcements sent through this list.
An IAHC electronic mail forum has been established for open public discussion of IAHC-related activities and issues. This list was shutdown on March 12, 1997 The iahc-discuss mailing list served as a public forum for the open discussion of issues being considered by the International Ad Hoc Committee (IAHC). The IAHC charter states:
"The IAHC is an international multi-organization effort for specifying and implementing policies and procedures relating to iTLDs." It is tasked with resolving assignment and management aspects of international Top Level Domain Names (iTLD), such as .com, .edu., and .org.
Participants are urged to review IAHC material at http://www.iahc.org, including the group's charter. The material also includes references to a number of other mailing lists that relate to the Domain Name Service. The IAHC is attempting to meet an aggressive schedule; this necessarily constrains discussion on iahc-discuss to matters specifically part of the immediate IAHC tasks. For other Domain Name and international Internet discussions, please refer to these other mailing lists.
An archive of the mailing list is available here.
There are other Internet mailing lists also discussing technical, legal and social aspects of the domain name system. Given below is list of references. If you know of other entries that should be listed, please submit them to webmaster@iahc.org:
Michael Dillon has created archives of the three newdom mailing lists up to the week of November 22, 1996. They are now available on this site in the following formats:
